Happy 5-Year Work Anniversary Paul!

Sunday, 7/9/23 is a special work anniversary. It is Paul Hourihan’s 5-year work anniversary!

Here is what Paul had to say about the past 5 years at APM:

It’s been 5 years since I have joined APM. When I first joined, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into.

My first day was also Scott’s first day. We sat up in the conference room and did some training with Chris. There was also a revolving door of people coming in to introduce themselves and tell us about their roles in the company. Back then the office was crowded with people.

Over the years I have had some unique travel experiences. The first summer of covid there was the Everactive install at Hill Air Force in Utah. Dave, Ryan, Jason and I went out there for 3 weeks. Covid numbers were high, so we stayed out over the weekends. Jason went home after the second week and Dave and I decided to make the drive to Yellowstone. To our surprise Ryan was ready in the morning. We spent over 14 hours of driving that day and most of that time Patterson sat in the back with his Gameboy and coloring books. We were able to see a good amount of the park in one day, but you definitely need more time as the place is just enormous.

The most memorable travel job was two years ago when we went to Japan. This was a long process that started in December, but we didn’t actually go until July. This delay resulted in all selected to have to back out, two as their families were about to grow. So once again here I was traveling with Patterson. We were able to get off the base after a few weeks and explore Iwakuni, Hiroshima and our last night Tokyo. We had a great tour guide in Ken from Trane even though he was the worst driver and ended up on the flight line in Fuji on two separate occasions.

Traveling was explained at my interview, and I feel I have embraced it, I will go anywhere for any length. They have led to some great night outs, maybe two of us needed to be rescued in a flash flood. We still owe Brandon our life. There was the cheesecake incident that still makes me laugh. The month in Houston last September and three weeks last summer in Ohio. There have been many memorable moments here and we will see what is next.

Here is what Field Operations Supervisor, Eric Chagnon, had to say about Paul:

Paul was one of the few techs who came to APM with steam experience and has been a great resource. Paul is also one of the most flexible techs willing to take jobs most techs pass on. Congratulations on 5 years Paul!

And here is what Director of Engineering, Eric Honan, had to say about Paul’s time at APM:

Paul provides a high level of technical expertise to APM and is always willing to help train and guide new techs who are excited to learn. He continues to be flexible and is willing to take on far away projects and always makes sure they are successful. I appreciate his candid feedback and ability to work through problems that arise at job sites. Congrats on 5 years and I look forward to many more!

Thank you, Paul, for your continuous hard work and dedication through your time at APM.
