Today is a special work anniversary. It Is Melissa Colon’s 1-year work anniversary!
Here is what Melissa had to say about her first year at APM:
This past year at APM has been a really positive experience for me. I’ve enjoyed being part of such a supportive and easygoing team, and it’s been great getting to know everyone while continuing to learn and grow in my role.
A funny story—over the summer, my son came into my office and said, “Mom, why are you in your pajamas?” I told him, “I work from home and don’t have any camera meetings today.” He replied, “Must be nice. I want a job like yours when I’m older.” He’s 11.
One thing I’m especially proud of is being able to support the accounting team and help take some of the workload off their plate. It feels good knowing I’ve been able to contribute in a way that makes things run a little easier for everyone.
Overall, I’m really grateful for my time here so far and am looking forward to continuing to grow and be part of the team.
And here is what Controller, Wendy Howland had to say about Melissa’s first year at APM:
Melissa joined the accounting team at an ideal point in our annual cycle, allowing her to quickly gain meaningful exposure to our processes. During her first six months, she demonstrated strong initiative and a genuine eagerness to learn all aspects of the team’s responsibilities. This proactive approach set a solid foundation for her success during the latter half of the year-our busiest and most demanding period.
During the year-end, audit, and tax cycles, Melissa proved to be a valuable asset to the team. She consistently stepped up to support critical deliverables, maintained a positive attitude under pressure, and contributed to keeping workflows on track during peak periods.
She regularly asks how she can further support the team, and as our busy season winds down, her willingness to help has led to opportunities to collaborate on accounting activities related to Aquatomic’s books.
It has been a pleasure working with Melissa over the past year, and I look forward to seeing her continued growth and contributions at APM. Congratulations on year 1 Melissa!
