Tomorrow, March 30th, is a special work anniversary. It is Eric Honan’s 15-year work anniversary!
Here is what Eric had to say about his time at APM:
In 2009 APM was a team of about 7 people with only 3 field techs and certainly lacking an HR department. Tony was the owner, breaks and lunches were mandatory and it was required that I played cribbage, hat toss, left right center or bumper pool for buck. When it was time to work the halls echoed with “NEW LINE, NEW LINE” as Tony dictated emails through Dragon – a cutting edge talk-to-text program. It was common to overhear my coworker aggressively arguing with his wife on the phone, or calling the state to complain about roadwork. The sales team was just getting traction and would sell anything they could which often resulted in “Eric will figure it out” as the solution. It was truly a great time at APM!Over the years it has been entertaining, sometimes painful, but always inspiring to see the company continue to grow and try new things. We have seen many interesting characters come and go and made great strides in steam lining our processes. I am a little shocked its been 15 years, but it has been a good 15 years and I appreciate all…well most of the people that I’ve worked with!
And here is what CEO, Ricardo Aguirre had to say about Eric:
When I first started to learn about APM, Tony, APM’s founder, told me a lot about Eric. He said that he had worked on the field and was in charge of running the field team, overseeing all quotes, and scheduling every job at the time. He told me he had an incredible amount of knowledge about steam and that most customers loved him. I was intrigued, I wanted to know more about Eric’s day-to-day and how I could best work with him. This was his summary: “I don’t know how he does everything he does, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him upset. You’ll get along great”. Tony was succinct but completely right. In the eight years I’ve been around, I still haven’t quite found out how he does everything he does and how he manages to stay even-keeled and mostly in a pretty great mood, regardless of the circumstances. In good times and bad times, I’ve always felt I can rely on Eric to have clear judgement, unencumbered by emotion or ego, and always putting APM and its team members first. He is someone who always finds time to listen and help others and who claims very little credit for his contributions. Over the years, I’ve seen him work hard on building a team of exceptional field technicians with extensive steam knowledge, even if many came to APM with none. He wants to give every hire a fair chance at being successful and has the patience and care to let people develop their skills.I honestly can’t imagine leading APM without the benefit of his knowledge, his stoic personality, and his comradery. Cheers to 15 years. On behalf of our entire team, thank you for everything you do for APM, and I look forward to working with you for many years to come!
Thank you, Eric, for your continuous hard work and dedication through your time at APM.
