Today is a special work anniversary. It is Sid Khanna’s 5-year work anniversary!
Here is what Sid had to say about his time at APM:
I can’t believe it’s 5 years already! Thanks. I can say that I’ve enjoyed my time working at APM. My background was not in steam so I appreciated the company taking a chance on me. It’s been an interesting experience. Especially since Covid started on my one year anniversary. It also made sales a challenge when we were all on lockdown.
A funny story that happened at the company was on my first day in the old office. Sean took me out to a jobsite close by and upon our return to the car there was a white glove at the door. He said that was really strange and I jokingly told him that is a gang sign and that he maybe a target. He took me seriously and I know he was a bit freaked out on our ride back. When I was talking to Ricardo about the sales call I mentioned the joke and how Sean freaked out. He started laughing and told me that he gets rattled by those kind of jokes. It was a good learning experience on how to scare him as well as how to sell our services.
What I am most proud of in my time with the company is the growth I was able to generate in my territory. All my regions are very different from working bids in NJ to selling without incentives in the PA market. I was able to get through the Covid lockdowns and increase our revenue in the APM South Region. More importantly I am building the company’s reputation in a positive way. I could not have done any of this if APM did not have patience throughout the whole process.
And here is what CEO, Ricardo Aguirre had to say about Sid:
Sid was the first sales engineer I hired when I led the sales team back in 2019. The main thing that stuck out to me through the interview process then was how friendly and eager-to-learn he was. Fast-forward 5 years, he’s still got the drive to build strong relationships with customers and fellow team members, and the desire to learn more about the work we do and the new services we want to launch. Sid is also incredibly persistent. Early in his tenure, I joined him as we visited a few potential customers around Philadelphia. Even though, they were all initially dismissive of the need for a steam trap survey (one even stood us up!), Sid kept his cool and drive, and made the most out of every visit, making new connections, getting them interested on smaller projects, or simply using the opportunity to learn more about those facilities and their pain points. His ability to turn challenges into learning opportunities is an asset for all of us at APM.Happy 5-year anniversary! I look forward to working with you for many more years to come.
Thank you, Sid, for your continuous hard work and dedication through your time at APM.
