Today is a special work anniversary. It is Kit Valles’s 1-year work anniversary!
Here is what Kit had to say about her first year at APM:
As I reflect on my one-year journey at APM Steam, I am filled with gratitude and a sense of accomplishment. My initial steps into the company, starting part-time in BizOps, marked the beginning of a transformative experience. The warm welcome during the INTRO to each department left an indelible mark, setting the tone for what would become a remarkable year.
I can’t thank James and the entire BizOps Team enough for their unwavering support during those crucial early days. Their guidance and willingness to assist played a pivotal role in making my transition seamless. The camaraderie within the team made my 14-hour or more workdays (fulltime + part time job) not just manageable but enjoyable.
Making the decision to leave my corporate job in July and commit fully to APM Steam was a significant turning point for me. The trust and confidence the organization placed in me, particularly in my new role within the IT Team, have been nothing short of empowering. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunities provided and the belief that APM Steam has shown in my capabilities.
Over the past three months as a full-time member of the IT Team led by Ted, I have had the privilege of working with a group of talented individuals who are not just colleagues but a cohesive and supportive work family. The collaborative spirit within the team has fostered an environment where challenges are viewed as opportunities for growth.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the prospect of contributing further to the success of APM Steam. The positive and empowering culture cultivated within the company has played a pivotal role in my growth and development. As I reflect on the past year, I am confident that the learnings and relationships formed at APM will continue to shape my career positively in the years to come.
Here is what Business Operations Manager, James Aguiar, had to say about Kit’s time at APM:
Working with Kit this year has been an absolute pleasure. She has a vibrant personality and combines that with a strong work ethic. She works in the background most of her time so while people may not see exactly what she is doing, she had a very impactful first year here at APM, having jumped right into a busy heating season with Biz Ops in December, and transitioned to an IT role with high-level goals of automating and fixing long standing issues. She is a great pick to “own” the form creation and management process at APM and look forward to the ways she will contribute in transforming the data pipeline we use each and every day here. Thank you Kit for taking that leap and joining us, I appreciate you carefully considering that transition both to full time at APM as well as to a new role in IT. Hope this next year is full of learning opportunities and continued success!
And here is what Director of IT, Ted Quanstrom, had to say about Kit:
I feel lucky to be able to work with Kit every day. She has such a great demeanor and is a pleasure to talk to and work with. Kit has learned a lot in a short amount of time about form.com and Salesforce and how transforming our data back and forth between those two platforms. Soon, she’ll begin learning more about more general IT things and she’ll begin to help to support you all with more broad IT items. Congrats on one year Kit, here’s to the coming one!
Thank you, Kit, for your continuous hard work and dedication through your time at APM.
