Taunton State Hospital – Thermostatic Trap Changeouts – 2021
12/15/2021 job note from Anthony Fenter
Today was the final day of the project at Taunton State. We repaired approximately 650 traps out of an estimated 800. Overall the project went exactly as planned, we used our time wisely and managed to finish the project on schedule. We encountered a few problems when we found traps we didn’t have replacements for but managed to work around them until the parts were ready. There were about seven leaks reported throughout the project which we repaired with no further issues. The newer people we had on site learned very quickly and asked questions when they needed to. Mark Anderson was incredibly happy with our performance throughout the project and expressed interest in having us on contract to be available for services in the future. I took the time to explain our newer custom services, especially Heat Exchanger cleanings which he was also interested in since they have several throughout the facility. I left my number with both the Boiler house staff and the staff for DYS incase their were any problems that should arise in the short time after we finish. This project wasn’t without its challenges but we got everything done that we needed to.
Sean Keleher – City of Lynn Jobs
As it does every year, the Lynn jobs and any utility work that needs to be done by the end of the year is down to the wire. Despite every effort, there are always roadblocks that delay things and make everyone need to work harder than they should to get things done. This year, sixteen projects came in finally on the day I left for vacation, and Chip, Eric Honan, and Eric Chagnon stepped up to get the jobs opened and prepped. The scheduling team has to work tirelessly to schedule and reschedule all these jobs, while everyone involved with parts ordering and prep also have to work extra hard. Our field technicians are working double after double the week of Christmas and New Year’s to get this work done. Biz Ops has two or three rounds of immediate reporting that needs to get done throughout this process and they get it done every time, and Accounting then has to get these jobs over to the appropriate people to close it out before the end of the year. It really is all hands on deck every year, and it proves every time how great of a team we have all around. I appreciate all of you and hope I can someday find a way to either get these things going earlier or get more time to get them done.
I’d also like to give massive credit to the special projects team. I am seeing plenty of instances when one of our field technicians sees something in the field and gets in touch with Jon, Katie, or David, and we see a quote promptly and I am sure the customer appreciates the timeliness and thoroughness of our team.
