A Month in Review

Here are some of the highlights from October 2021 as told by the Sales Team . .

Sid Khanna: Shoutout to Diane!

I wanted to thank Diane for helping out Kerri with her transition and getting her up to speed. She’s been doing double duty on her new role in accounting and helping out with her old one!

Nice job Diane! We appreciate all you do!

Eric Hayston: General Dynamics

This week while doing an install at General Dynamics in Pittsfield, MA Matt Hydock, Jeff Czerniak, and Stephen McManus came across a challenging situation. They were trying to replace a trap connected to a unit heater located 15 ft in the air, when they realized the existing pipe was brittle. It basically broke as they tried to work on it. Normally this would have been a very troubling situation because they would have had to go get multiple sections of pipe and fittings from where ever we can source it out in Western MA. Plus the unit heater run went all the way up to the ceiling which is at least 30 ft in the air. So we would have needed a larger lift as well. This could have made a simple trap replacement into a multiple day project fairly quickly. With a large amount of unknown additional expenses.

Luckily the customer had a Megapress on site. (FYI APM Steam does have a Megapress with jaws up to 2” Pipe) By using the Megapress our team was able to complete a safe effective repair in short order.

Please keep in mind if you run into a situation where there is going to be a ton of re-piping it would be worth asking to have someone bring the megapress over to you to save time, materials, and energy.

Great job getting the job done safely with the resources you had available. Thanks guys!

Jim Krochune: Steward Health Care

As part of CREF/Steward Energy Optimization Program, CREF has engaged APM to manage the Steam Trap Program for Steward Health Care. We will be performing compressed air surveys, steam trap surveys, and repairs for 38 hospitals throughout the country in 5 locations! Scott Kenyon, Senior Vice President of Steward Health Care, is thrilled to finalize this contract. He has been a long standing customer who utilized our nationwide footprint to work in all their hospitals. This opportunity could possibly lead to a 10-year contract.

This is very exciting news! Congrats Jim!
