Here are some of the highlights from September 2021 as told by the Sales Team . .
Sid Khanna: Fast Acting at RWJ University Hospital in Rahway, NJ
Last week Sid received an emergency call from the customer saying all 4 HEXs were not working, therefore unable to heat the hot water needed throughout the hospital. The replacement HEX bundles had an 8-week lead time, but Jonathan Davis was able to find a spare bundle that day to use. Jason Jimenez and Matt Hydock dropped what they were doing and repaired the HEX bundle. The customer was thrilled by the fast action and quality work from all involved. Because of this, we secured a 5-year service contract for all 4 units as well as replacement of the remaining 3 bundles. This was a $40k win!
Great job taking quick action Sid, Jonathan, Jason and Matt!
Eric Hayston: Teamwork at Emergent BioSolutions
On Mon. Sept. 20th we received an emergency call from Emergent BioSolutions about a failed APT14 Pressure Operated Pump (POP). That day we were able to redirect Evan Pfenninger out to troubleshoot. From that troubleshoot call we recommended that the POP be repaired. Which the customer asked us to do asap due to the system being part of the production process. Kaeleigh Karner immediately sent out an order to Spirax Sarco, but they were slow in responding back to us with a lead time. I was able to speak with our Spirax Sarco Rep and find out that the repair kit was 8 weeks out due to unusual demand over the summer. Because of the urgent nature of the project, Eric Honan and I started calling around to find someone with this repair kit. Unfortunately, the closest repair kit was in the middle of the county. Fortunately, we were able to find a full POP with FW Webb although it was a NPT and not a flange trap. So, we were able to acquire the full trap, and Eric Chagnon quickly cut 2 gaskets using a broken APT14 we had in the shop.
Rod Perez and Matt Couto arrived on site that Friday Sept. 25th to enact repairs but were not able to because they were not able to safely isolate the POP. We are schedule to return on Sat. Oct. 8th for a scheduled shutdown. During that call Rod was able to do some more troubleshooting and was able identify that the heat exchanger that the POP was connected to showed signs of a failed tube bundle.
This has now opened an opportunity for Jonathan Davis to assist Emergent BioSolutions in replacing the tube bundle at some point down the road.
The success of this project was how each individual worked as a team to help resolve this customer unique issue. One of the things that we might not realize is from start to finish a lot of hands are needed to get a project from customer request to finished project. The highlight is that this customer is very happy with the quick turnaround that we did to help support them in a production crisis. Being able to respond to calls like this will open more opportunities for APM Steam at this location and it all thanks to everyone that stepped up to assist.
What a great example of everyone working together to resolve the issue and make the customer happy! Nice work to all involved!
Sean Keleher: Worcester Public Schools
This month, we had a sudden request to do a radiator trap changeout job at Worcester Public Schools, and were asked to jump on it ASAP. We jumped on it but had tons of hoops to jump through. Things finally started to get somewhere but got to a standstill again, and our office was in a position where they couldn’t do much. Michelle was on vacation, and Jack was in a tough spot that he probably hasn’t been in at APM where he was expected to schedule and reschedule the job two or three times while we got the runaround, but he was extremely professional and patient, and we ended up finally getting the documents we needed from the customer and scheduled the job. Jack’s work ethic and calm demeanor are much appreciated.
Awesome job Jack!
Nice job everyone ! Way to pull it together and make APM shine !
Great work everyone, I just wanted to also shoutout Biz Ops, James and his team were able to turn that quote around quickly so that we could order the parts.
